Just wondering what you think of diggin up buried shows. A couple years ago, there was that Dukes of Hazzard movie, that was just an insult to the 80's series. They are currently making a movie about the a-team, which hopefully will show the series respect. There is currently a Knight Rider series, which is actually nice. And the list goes on.

But what do you think: should those old shows stay buried or given another chance?

If they show respect to the original series, it's a good idea. Some of these movies are just exploiting the franchise. Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky & Hutch etc. They aren't paying homage, they're turning them into comedies.

Remaking television series is strange since some of these ran over a hundred episodes.

Bionic Woman failed.
V the series isn't doing that well.
90210 (really?)
Melrose Place (Again, really?)

Battlestar Galactica was done very well. Star Trek was great at paying homage to the original series while doing something new and different. They need more original ideas. Adapting a television series into a movie is one thing but remaking classic shows? That's different then movies.

They're also discussing doing a remake of Total Recall. It came out in 1990, the effects still hold up today. What's wrong with Hollywood?
